Teaching

Samuel Kunstler has taught in music schools in France and Denmark, as well as privately, for over twenty years.

Samuel strives to guide his students towards becoming cellists who are confident, expressive, and joyful in their music-making. He achieves this by incorporating the Suzuki approach (he is a level 4 Suzuki teacher, trained by master Suzuki teacher Anders Grøn) to promote a healthy technique and refined listening skills, and by maintaining a relaxed, playful and positive demeanour during lessons.

His teaching philosophy is further influenced by his own experiences as a student at the Juilliard School and the New England Conservatory, where he studied under world-renowned instructors such as Paul Katz and Richard Aaron, as well as by his work as a musician with Denmark’s foremost orchestras.

Samuel currently teaches at the Danish Suzuki Institute, and at the International School of Hellerup.
